What the app is

The app times sun exposure. It takes the UV index forecast for your location, your declared skin type and your position on a twelve-session programme, and from those it proposes how long to stay in the sun and how long to wait before the next session.

It is a timer with arithmetic behind it. It is not a medical device, it does not measure anything about your body, and it cannot see your skin.

Health warning

• The app gives information, not medical advice. It is not a substitute for a doctor, and nothing in it is a diagnosis or a treatment.
• All ultraviolet exposure raises the risk of skin cancer and accelerates photoageing. Following the app lowers that risk relative to unmeasured sunbathing; it does not remove it. There is no such thing as a safe tan.
• The UV index comes from an external weather forecast and can differ from the sun actually falling on you. Cloud, altitude, reflection from water, snow or sand, and simple forecast error all change the real dose.
• The app is not suitable for you if you have a photodermatosis, are taking photosensitising medication, have a history of skin cancer, or have a large number of moles. Ask a doctor before using it.
• You are responsible for your own condition. Stop the session at once if your skin reddens, stings or feels uncomfortable, whatever the timer says.
• The app does not know whether you are wearing sunscreen, and its calculations do not assume any. Do not treat its timings as a licence to skip protection.

If you use the app despite one of the conditions above, you do so at your own risk and on your own judgement.

Your account

You may use the app without an account. An account exists so that your progress survives a lost phone and follows you to a new one.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials to yourself and for what happens under your account. Tell us at info@emaho.dev if you think someone else has access to it. You may delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete Account.

Subscriptions and purchases

The app offers three products: a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, and a one-time "lifetime" unlock. Prices are shown on the payment screen in your local currency before you confirm anything.

• Payment is taken by your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
• The one-time "lifetime" unlock does not renew and does not need cancelling.

Free trial

Subscriptions may be offered with a free trial of 3 days. The duration that binds is the one displayed on the payment screen and in the store listing at the moment you subscribe — if the two ever disagree, the store wins.

• The trial is available once per subscription group. If you have used it on the monthly plan, you will not get it again on the annual plan.
• Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid subscription and the first payment is taken.
• If you buy a subscription while a trial is running, the unused part of the trial is forfeited. This is how Apple and Google operate, not a rule of ours.

Cancelling

Subscriptions are managed by the store, not by us. We cannot cancel one for you, and deleting the app or your account does not stop the billing.

• iPhone and iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
• Android: Google Play → profile picture → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Refunds

Purchases are made through Apple and Google, so refunds follow their rules and are requested from them, not from us. For Apple use reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google use the Play Store's order history.

Where the law of your country gives you a statutory right of withdrawal, that right stands regardless of anything in this section.

Restoring a purchase

On a new device, open the payment screen and use "Restore purchases", signed in to the same App Store or Google Play account you bought with. The entitlement is tied to that store account.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break, decompile or work around the app or its purchase checks, do not use it to build a competing product, and do not use it in a way that breaks the law where you are. We may suspend access that does any of these.

Intellectual property

The app, its name, its artwork and the programme behind it belong to us. Your purchase buys a personal, non-transferable right to use the app; it does not transfer ownership of anything.

Liability

The app is provided as it is. We do not warrant that the UV forecast is accurate, that the app will be available without interruption, or that it will suit any particular purpose of yours.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for sunburn, skin damage, or any other harm arising from your use of the app, nor for indirect or consequential loss. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or anything else that the law does not permit us to exclude. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Ending this agreement

You may stop at any time by deleting the app, and delete your data in Profile → Delete Account. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, or if we withdraw the app from sale — in which case any subscription you have paid for and not used will be handled under the store's refund rules.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and disputes go to the courts of Almaty, Kazakhstan. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms — to reflect a new feature, a new store rule, or a change in the law. The current version is always on this page with its date at the top. Where a change materially reduces your rights, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept it. If you do not, stop using the app and cancel any subscription.
